Miatasport is a part/subsidiary of Mildren Race
Engineering involving a group of people solely devoted to the
care and performance enhancement of Mazda MX5's.
Owned by Greg Mildren and headed by Darryl Gabbusch, both of whom
have a passion for Mazda MX5's. Mildren Race Engineering formed
in 1990, specialising in Mazda Rotary's, under the name "Rotary
Automotive Services".
After many years of continual development and success, producing
some of South Australia's best Rotary's for high performance street,
circuit racing and drag racing cars as well as rotary conversions
into all sorts of vehicles ranging from clubman kit cars to Ford
capri, we have always had a desire to get our hands dirty on a
Mazda MX5.
In our view Mazda should of made them with rotarys. They look
good, they handle and stop well, but they never had enough power.
They have suspension design far superior to any rotary powered
car prior to the RX7 series 6.
But there's room for improvement, which why we are so interested
in them.
